Summer 2004

I have had a lot of fun and found some new info in my chasing around for the first half of the year. I am adding some new photo’s on my photography page from this years travels in Indiana and North Carolina. I am also updating the Genealogy pages with what new information I have managed to get input (more to come as the chasing is much more fun than the reporting).

I managed to attend two family reunions this year. The first was the annual get together of my father’s family. This was the 45th Boyd ~ Cox Family Reunion. Celebrating the union of James Pleas Boyd and Sarah “Sallie” Cox. They were married 102 years ago on Wednesday the 17th August 1902 in Leander, Texas. My father’s twin sister was able to attend this year. She is the last surviving member of the direct family.

This picture is of my Aunt Helen (my dad’s twin)
and
Aunt Gertrude (her sister-in-law).

The second reunion was a first for me, I received word of the Pearson ~ Whitt Reunion in Georgetown, Texas from a new(?) cousin I met this year through these very pages. Candy Clarke Allmand tracked me down because of the images of the “Pearson~Cox~Boyd” Family Bible that arrived in my possession when my father died in 1996. I scanned the pages and placed them on the internet not too long after they came into my possession. At the time I had no idea who most of the earliest names were. Candy and her sister Cookie spotted the name of there Great Grandmother on a print of one of the pages another relative had made from my old site.

I would say I would try to keep these pages updated more often but I know from past experience that it will never happen any more often than it does. I do use blogger to update my Research Blog more often than these pages, so have a look there for more up to date info.
